Having lived in Japan as a teen and fallen in love with the culture, Paige’s inspiration comes from the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi (the beauty of imperfection, or things that are perfectly imperfect), as well as whimsy found in everyday life. She tries to make pieces that she would want to wear herself; simple enough to wear to work every day, but impressive enough to wear out of an evening.
After studying Jewellery and Object Design at NMIT, Paige gained experience working as an intern in London for Tomasz Donocik. Moving home to Hobart in 2014, Paige started her own business, inspired by the enthusiasm for local craftspeople and a community of supportive makers. Since then, Paige has been working surrounded by gumtrees after turning a shed on her parent’s property into a studio.
